Icom IC-7100 VARA FM Configuration
These settings support VARA FM Winlink and VARA FM P2P on the Icom IC-7100
using its internal sound card or an external sound card such as the SignaLink USB
Sound Card.
Radio Settings

USB Audio SQL: OFF (OPEN)
ACC/USB Output Select: AF
ACC/USB AF Level: 30% (between 30% and 50%)
ACC/USB IF Level: 50%
ACC MOD Level: 50%
DATA MOD Level: 50% (between 30% and 50%)
USB MOD Level: 50% (adjust for minimum ALC)
DATA OFF MOD: MIC, ACC
DATA MOD: USB
CI-V =>
CI-V Baud Rate: 19200
CI-V Address: 88h
CI-V Transceive: ON
CI-V Output (for ANT): OFF
USB2/DATA1 Function => Default (no changes necessary)
VSEND Select: VHF/UHF
9600 bps Mode: OFF
Winlink Settings
The settings for a VARA FM Winlink or VARA FM P2P session
do not depend on which sound card is used. Open a VARA FM
Winlink session or a VARA FM P2P session and select the
Settings menu.

VARA FM Settings
The VARA FM settings for internal or external sound card are the same except for the
PTT settings.

Set the Input and Output devices to USB Audio CODEC.
Select Auto Tune to set the drive level for the station you are contacting.

To use the IC-7100 internal sound card, set the PTT to be switched
via CAT and complete the details for the IC-7100.
To determine the correct COM port, look under Ports in the
Windows Device Manager. There will likely be two Silicon Labs
ports. Select the A port. The Device instance path of the A
port ends with _A.
To use an external sound card such as the SignaLink USB,
set the PTT to be switched via VOX.
